Schism

Shadows on the wall, twice reflected.
Mirrors of your soul, spin like the dome.

Broken time piece detunes your heart.
The farce features two stars.

One man talks and the other hides.
But their roles move and slide.

Though I am convinced,
What about the other?

Black misty figure emerges
One of us must die.

You’re shaking inside your bars.
Is it you or the other?

Don’t mope; its just me and you.
But tell me, who are you?

You hide the fugitive.
But hide from him too.

Use a bullet to fix the pain.
Freedom’s just a click away.

He hides behind the glass door,
And looks from the outside.
And runs when the door opens.
But turns to find the other one.

Is Smile the only cover?

Slow and easy, circling ‘round…
Mad and crazy, whirring ‘round…
He sits in peace, to find a pair…
One looking in, the other out…

I look at my eyes.
I see they’re goin’ blind.

Can I take back that lie?
When I did not look you in the eye?

Though there was a smile,
It wasn’t mine…

When will the play stop?
So we can go home…
